I created this logo for Stonebriar Community Church in 2004. The logo needed to bridge the gap between traditional and contemporary. I believe the font choice worked well to achieve this objective. The diagonal bar in the letter “e” and the use of all lowercase letters for the words “community church” gave the logo an inviting, relaxed feel. The burst over the letter “i” represents the beacon of light that the church seeks to be in the community.
This logo made the churchrelevance.com top ten list of the world’s best church logos of 2004. The logo still ranks second on their top six list from 2004 and earlier, which includes the logo of Hillsongs Church, Australia (designed in 1994).
